there are competitors from all over the world except our region..and this makes me wonder why: there is nothing better "talking" we can do !!!!

how many ppl read in our region!! can u believe that according to the 2003 UNDP Arab Development Report, a bestseller in the Arab region may have a print run of only 5,000 copies — in a region of over more than 284 million people.
and who can believe that “Between 9,000 and 20,000 books are published each year and readers don’t hear about more than perhaps 5 percent of them because books are simply not advertised except by the very biggest publishers because TV and newspaper adverts are too expensive" !!!
And what do Egyptians like to read? According to the 2003 Arab Human Development Report, religious books account for 17 percent of all books published in Arab countries, compared to a world average of about 5 percent. Books on social sciences, literature and the arts in the Arab region, on the other hand, “command a much smaller percentage,” according to the report.
oh lala laaaaaaaaaaaaaa "OUR REGION 5 % according to the world"...

and sure this simply presented in some industries like the: "R & D" which hardly you can hear about in our region or renewable energy,,, as simply ppl didn't use to make their mind regard science (plus the financial and lap stuf..etc)
keeping in mind our great "Education system", as studies say that: There is a significant link between repetition in the first grades of primary education and the learning of reading and writing among kids"
for sure there is a need for significant changes in the teaching of reading and writing and for a thorough overhaul of the parameters and traditional practices usually applied to first literacy in formal and non-formal situations (and this needs books to tell about its disaster, and how we deal with !!)
the absence of reading and knowledge among our community, for sure reflects on our sociial life style: see the best project to develo here is "open a cafe"...tat tataaaaaaaaa ...or " 3arabyet Kabab we kebda"...
i wonder why we wonder why: we feel so bored in life !!
simply because we do nothing :)))
